Suggested Restaurants in Cabarete

Aly’s Surf Camp – absolutely awesome. It is located in Pro Cab. You go down the Main Street and a little before Janet’s supermarket the road forks to the right and there is one of those security gates across the road. Go to the end of the street and you have to turn right. Continue and make your first right, not very far, and Aly’s is straight ahead. You walk through the garden, past the surf camp rooms to the restaurant. It’s a huge thatched roof area with an open kitchen with tables inside and out on a small deck as well. Small chalkboards hanging from the walls are the menu. All dinners come with a salad which is self-serve near the kitchen plus a potato or veggie on the side. The potato had a special sour cream sauce and was so sweet. You MUST try the churassco XXL, 399 pesos. It is a huge slab of thin beef (6 in X 16 in, not exaggerating!) and melt in your mouth tender. The lobster for 499 pesos was also excellent. We did not like the shrimp that much FYI. I actually brought my beef back and had steak and eggs the next day and it was still tender.

Gorditosthe best and the fastest! Run by Californians John and Deidre who have brought Tex Mex to the DR. If you are not into tacos and burritos they turn it into a nice bowl of food. Really reasonable!

Aquas on the beach in front of the Millennium everything from reasonable pizza and pasta to full dinners. Best beef Carpaccio!

Casa Mami’s – we never ate there because we learned about too late in our stay and couldn’t find it at night. It’s supposed to be past Janet’s near the police station. Here’s a video about it:

We will definitely check it out next time

Lazy Dog Bar and Grill – this place is almost near the end of the beach. It’s the place with the outdoor furniture with the green cushions. They have happy hour, $1 rum punches and Mojito. They are not as big as the Mojito bar drinks though. They also have some happy hour food specials. They have pitchers of sangria too, yum! Very comfy with music.

Sea Horse Ranch restaurant – The Beach Club? Loved it. Next time will be sure to go for sunset. The waves are crashing right outside and the walls are all glass! Food was excellen! Think you had this in your blog.

Papi on the beach in Cabarete, used to be a must do but we don’t think it is as good as it used to be. They are famous for their langostinos
